It wasn’t just another gunship — Spooky 71 was a flying fortress of BRRRRT, tearing the night sky open with three side-mounted miniguns and enough flares to turn midnight into high noon. But on February 24, 1969, the mission almost ended in fire and smoke when enemy mortars shredded the aircraft, wounding nearly everyone on board.
That should’ve been the end of Spooky 71. Instead, an Airman named John Levitow — bleeding, concussed, and barely conscious — dragged a live flare to the cargo door and hurled it out with his bare hands before it cooked off and vaporized the crew.
This shirt isn’t just about a gunship. It’s about the night Spooky 71 refused to die, and the lowest-ranking Medal of Honor recipient in history who made sure of it.

• Fabric weight: 4.2 oz/yd² (142.40 g/m²), triblends: 3.8 oz/yd² (90.07 g/m²)
• 30 singles thread weight
• Side-seamed
• Blank product sourced from Nicaragua, Honduras, or the US
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: Wash inside out with like colors. Do not bleach, tumble dry low, do not iron.
